Ariel Gail
Professor Gail S. Goodman is Distinguished Professor of Psychology and director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She is credited for starting the modern study of children's memories of eyewitnesses, as well as the role of children as victims in court contexts. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer and has been awarded several grants, and has received numerous national and international awards. She has worked with numerous authorities and organizations across the world regarding policy guidelines as well as research on children as victims in the legal system. She works as a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center which was previously known as the Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a former member of several professional associations, such as The Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions of Experimental Psychology, Developmental Psychology Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) She also is a founding member of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development, as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman has been head of 3 divisions (Division Society for Policy and Child Development and Practice Division, American Psychology Law Society as well as Division Developmental Psychology) and one section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
